As Beta Mu’s 100-year anniversary at Texas approaches in 2020, we must turn our attention to what the future holds and how we, the alumni, will now provide a modern, safe and competitive home for our fraternity, refreshing 2400 Leon for the new Beta Mu century.
Together with our active members, the volunteer leadership of the Beta Mu Building Corp (Don Flournoy ’66 chairman), the House Campaign Committee (John Rathmell ‘76 chairman and Tom Peel ’73 is managing the Era and Pledge Class Leader fundraising programs) and the Alumni Advisory Board (Russ Keene ’80 chairman, Doug Phelan ’65 vice chairman) are committed to this major undertaking with the help of dedicated alumni donors.
The support of all alumni and the Pike family is needed now in this significant long-term investment in our home to ensure a strong future for our chapter. The commitment we make today cannot be underestimated—it will have a far-reaching effect on the lives of our brothers for years to come.
As of year-end 2017, the campaign has already received commitments of almost $4 million towards our $5 million goal. Architectural design and land planning phases are almost complete. The intent is to demise the current house in late spring 2019, delivering the new house to the chapter in August 2020.
